    No FAFing about here!

At GoBackload, we’re saying goodbye to FAF – and no, it’s not a typo. We’re talking about the Fuel Adjustment Factor, a surcharge that’s silently crept into the freight industry.

FAF, short for Fuel Adjustment Factor, is an extra fee slapped onto your transport invoice once your goods have been delivered. It’s meant to cover fluctuating fuel costs, but here’s the kicker – it’s not quoted upfront. Instead, it’s applied as a percentage after the job is done, leaving you blindsided by an inflated invoice.

Even worse, when you ask for clarity on how much this mysterious FAF will be, the answer is always vague: “Well, that depends.” Major freight companies have normalized this surcharge, so now your quote includes the base price, GST, and the ambiguous FAF. But how much is the FAF? Who knows – it’s an estimate until the invoice reaches your inbox.

In the past, freight companies justified this with fluctuating fuel prices. But here’s the thing: for the last two years, fuel prices have been relatively stable. Other industries, like taxis and buses, have figured out how to predict fuel costs and build them into their fares. Imagine hailing a taxi, reaching your destination, and then being told, “Oh, by the way, your fare is 17% more because we didn’t anticipate the fuel cost.”

Just six months ago, we asked a national freight company for a quote. Along with the cost of the service, we were told to brace for a FAF that could be as high as 17%. When you add GST on top of that, the total was a whopping 32% on top of the original freight charge.

Well, we’re not having any of that here at GoBackload.

We’ve told freight providers: no more add-ons. We want clear, upfront pricing – just like when you fill up your car, buy groceries, or order a pint at the pub. You should know what you’re paying before you accept the quote – no surprises.

No FAFing about here – When you use GoBackload to move your freight, the price you’re quoted is full and final. There are no hidden fees, no unexpected charges. What you see is what you pay.
